Choosing the Most Flattering Hair Length

Choosing the Most Flattering Hair Length

Flowy waist-length locks or sleek blunt bobs aren't for everyone, and that's how it should be!  Keep in mind that the best "hairstyle" or "haircut" has more to do with your specific facial features than your face shape, however there are 2 main factors to consider when determining hair length :

1. FACE SHAPE

There are six common face shapes: square, diamond, rectangle, round, heart, and oval.  There are many charts illustrating face shapes floating around the internet to help you figure out which face shape is yours.

Square and round faces typically look best with longer hair that flows past the jawline while longer hair is flattering for long and heart shaped faces. Shorter hair would look stunning on a diamond shaped face.  Oval shaped faces are pretty well-balanced, and can look good with either short or long hair.

2. LEVEL OF COMMITMENT

Maintaining any hairstyle requires commitment, especially when it comes to wearing hair extensions.  Brushing, washing, and general upkeep is important for the longevity of your hair extensions and the health of your natural hair.  You may spend a bit more time and effort caring for and styling longer hair than you would shorter hair, but shorter hair still needs some of that TLC. If you want your upkeep to be on the quicker side, then maybe shorter hair (or a style not too long) is the right length for you.
